Office potluck need an upgrade?

I came across a brilliant idea when I was doing some research for supporting workplace wellness. I like it and I think you will too, because, let's face it, we're all really into eating bowls of yummy stuff.

No? Just me?  I didn't think so.

Personally, I'm no chef (far from it) but I am QUITE the assembler!

And assembling a 'healthy bowl' is my specialty. Think some combination of brown rice or quinoa, greens, grilled chicken or hard-boiled egg, hummus, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, chia seeds, lemon juice, mushrooms, peppers, butternut squash (tis' the season!) and anything else I find in the frig or the pantry.  Throw it all together, mix it up, add some homemade Dijon vinaigrette and LUNCH IS SERVED.

How simplesavvy?!

Now, what if I told you, you can apply this same concept to your office lunch and recruit your coworkers as suppliers? That's right.   It's going down, on a Tuesday.

This year when your coworker, who's always perpetually trying to get a card signed for SOMEone for SOMEthing, suggests a potluck to celebrate the holidays, throw out the idea of incorporating a salad bowl lunch into the mix!

Here's how it works: Each participant can bring in one salad ingredient (think grains, protein, greens, veggies, fruits, nuts and spreads).  Arrange all the loot in the kitchen area and have all the attendees go through the line and build a yummy bowl of goodness! This is an excellent way to ensure you're not left suffering from 3 p.m. pizza hangovers, multiple times, over the next few months, all in the name of being "festive."

Might I also suggest giving this a try at your next book club wine night with the girls...
